Memory Monday· The Salesman

16 Mar

memorymondaybutton-4-2
Merry Memory Monday to you! This week I tucked I John 1:9 in my heart:

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. I John 1:9

Woo-Hoo! That is good news to me. If we will admit or acknowledge sins (don’t you just love that this word is plural?!) He who is faithful and without sin, will forgive and clean us from all impurities! Glory that is good! I think I’ve mentioned that with the Salesman working from home and homeschooling our teens, I feel like my most used phrase is “I’m so sorry, please forgive me?”

On Saturday, the Salesman stopped by the garage with my car. He called me to ask about the service book for the vehicle that I had put in the front passenger seat. I knew it was in there. I had rubber banded it to the leather-like pouch that holds all the manuals and service papers. Well, he told me it wasn’t there. I insisted that it was. I asked if the mechanic had maybe looked at it and not returned it to its spot. I knew I was right. He knew he couldn’t find the service book. I was riped (that is my word for when my fruit of the Spirit has passed by and I’m in my flesh and I’m ripe – I say I’m riped.) Well, I was riped. I was sick. I was tired. I was sick and tired. And I knew that I had put the service book in the car. We hung up. It was not but a few minutes later when the Spirit prompted me to call back and apologize.

When the Salesman answers, I say,”I’m really sorry for the way I talked…”
Salesman: “What?”
Me: “I’m really sorry for the way I talked…..”
Salesman: “What? I can’t hear what you are saying.”
Me (thinking to myself): OK Lord, now the children are going to hear my apology because there is obviously some heavy duty work going on in the background at the garage.

So, I gave my apology again, seventeen decibels higher than I had squeaked it out earlier. It was received and accepted. Later that evening when the Salesman sat down for dinner, he mentioned that *the service book* he called me about, was in the car after all. I was truly thankful that it was still in the car at this point. I’m convinced that had I continued on in my riped state and not apologized, I would have had a *told-you-so* attitude when the Salesman revealed this information. I had let go of the whole service book ordeal. I’m so thankful for I John 1:9. I’m also thankful for the Salesman who is such a great help with my vehicle maintenance. I have no doubt that the Salesman’s attention to lights, bells and whistles on my car (that I have no clue about) is the reason my twelve year old vehicle is purring smoothly. The Salesman and the Lord our God. Which brings me to my verse for next week:

Revelation 4:11

Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.

    Lora,

Thank you for a timely verse!! That is such an awesome promise that if we just confess our sins, He is faithful to forgive us!!

(and I am the world’s worse in wanting to have the last word!)

    Thank you my friend!

    Have a blessed day!

That’s a fantastic verse that I’ve heard so much with my kids in Awana, but it became fresh again when I read what you had to say.

I love how you used the word riped. I’m riped too much and need to do exactly what you did.

Your verse for next week is great!

I love your expression and the explanation: riped. I’ve been there!

    Blessings to you and yours!

I love “riped”. Unfortunately I find myself there all too often. It’s hard isn’t it but I am trying. And I’m praying that my memory verses about my mouth will be much help.

That little comment so encouraged me in my small efforts around here 🙂

I have never seen anything like what I saw when I I have never seen anything like what I saw when I walked in Walmart this last week.

Right there where they normally have fresh berries and Grainger county tomatoes and such, was a Valentine’s Day floral display the size of an above ground swimming pool.

And I wanted to dive in the deep end.

There were blooms as far as my eye could see and there was no way possible to get every one in the picture, though I tried.

I wish you lived in my town and we’d go enjoy them together.

It’s going to be a beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Scroll right to see the biggest display ever and a few colorful, and beautiful, bouquets.

I’m carrying forward the childhood joy of openin I’m carrying forward the childhood joy of opening my Raggedy Ann lunch box to find mama had cut my sandwich out with heart shaped cookie cutters.

♥️

It’s the little things.

♥️

I got my mama’s heart shaped cookie cutters out & am serving love & beauty with heart shaped, & heart healthy, Trim Healthy Mama Blender Freezer Waffles. Shout out to the organic Aldi raspberries that appear to be heart shaped as well!

The waffles are Salesman approved. ♥️

I make an entire batch of the waffles & keep them in a refrigerator box so he can grab them just like a L’eggo My Eggo & enjoy the convenience of healthy, & now heart-shaped, waffles.

You can see the Salesman’s legs in the background of one of the pictures of me trying to capture the perfect picture of the heart shaped waffles. I stepped out on the back porch, which is right outside his office, and he came out to see what I was doing. And let me tell you, he had a good laugh seeing me trying to get the picture perfect shot of my plate of love! After he ribbed me a bit, I told him that I really enjoyed taking pictures, & he then shared a nugget, or two, about the photography industry.

This is us. ♥️

This is me carrying on a tradition my mama started of making sweet memories for holidays & special occasions. It did not cost any money to use my childhood cookie cutters, it was just a sweet, and delicious, investment of time.

The most beautiful memories are tied with heart strings & not purse strings. ♥️
