I’m excited to join back in Memory Monday. And I’m breaking out of the mold of the Embrace the Word cards that I’d been doing… Change has not been an easy word for me. But God kept bringing up a passage of Scripture that has been been on my heart since February. This last month, *Pride* had me struggling with:
Lord, are you sure You want me to stop the memory cards at week 28?
Lord, I’m more than half way through the year of memory cards.
You know I don’t like starting and quitting.
I like the routine. The familiar.
But this last month, the Lord has changed and confirmed so much in our family. Change in general is not something I enjoy; but, God has been at work doing some new things. And His new things are good. This morning He woke me up a little after four and my finally willing heart wrote down:
Shake me up and change me
Lord do whatever You need to re-arrange me
Change me.
So today, I’m getting a fresh start with Memory Monday and learning a passage I felt the Lord impressing on my heart to pray for myself for this year:
I Corinthians 1:5-8
“that in everything you were enriched in Him, in all speech and all knowledge, even as the testimony concerning Christ was confirmed in you, so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Nancy says
“And He hath put a new song in my mouth, praise unto our God: many shall see and fear, and shall trust in the LORD!” Psalm 40:3
B His Girl says
Sometimes we want something MORE with the Lord. He listens to our requests and starts working the plan to meet our request. . Then we resist the changes necessary to fully do what He wants for our life. It’s crazy. He is so patient with us. B

Hey there, I just got your comment about Annabeth looking like your Emily. You mentioned that they are cousins. Are we related?

God bless you for listening to the voice of our Heavenly Father and most importantly…”Obeying.”

You just never know with God. Just when you get comfortable, He decides to go a new direction. It certainly keeps life exciting, doesn’t it?

Hi Lora!
Haven’t stopped by in a while and trying to play “catch-up” here!!
Good post…some “change” I really don’t mind, but there are others that I don’t want….usually when I need to do things differently in my life and that stubborn streak comes out! But change is good..for all of us, especially when it’s being “directed” by God!

This says it all about where I am dear sister. God is doing some awesome things within our family and within me personally and it’s the yielding to transition and change that I find the greatest moves of God in my life.
I stand with you in prayer and in the changes that GOD is making in all of us. He is so amazing! I absolutely adore the LORD.
Blessings to you and your family.

Nancy, I love the verse you shared – a new song indeed!
B, when we moved here, the Lord kept telling me through His Word “how much more” He had in store. Your comment encourages my heart.
Amanda, I think the comment left on your blog was posted by my cousin who does have a daughter named Emily. My cousin does not have a blog, but follows this one. Maybe when my cousin went to post a comment on a recent post I did about a trip to Franklin, TN, she might have hit your button on the side bar. I’m not sure what happened. My post had pictures of my darlin’ niece and I noticed your post had pictures of your three month old sweetie, so maybe, that is what happened. We are sisters in Christ. And so glad you came by.
Andrea, thank you kindly for your encouraging words. The blessings of obedience have been amazing too!
You are right Leah, God certainly knows how to keep life exciting. Bless you dear one!
Welcome back Beth. It is always good to hear from you dear Carolina friend!
And I echo your sentiment Lisa, I absolutely adore the LORD!
