Ultimate Healing

Glimpses of the Garden· My Dear Family· Reflections· The Whole Earth is Full of His Glory

16 May
034-3 This beautiful gathering of roses and fresh fruit on my Aunt Marie’s counter makes me think of a still life painting. Does life ever call you to be still?
The Lord stilled our family this week. My mother’s dear brother left his earthly home and went to live in his eternal mansion. I had prayed 3 John 2 over my Uncle Bill:

“Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.”

The verse was so appropriate for him.

047The Lord answered prayers this week with the ultimate healing
No more pain or discomfort is my dear Uncle Bill feeling
He has experienced the Ultimate Healing.

Please pray for safety for my dear brother and his family as they travel the many miles ahead of them today. Pray the Lord would bless and strengthen our relationships as they stay part of this next week to visit. Pray for comfort for my aunt who has lost her mate of 52 years and planned a celebration of his life (not a funeral). I love this! A celebration! We have something to celebrate! My uncle knew where he was going! He is very much alive today!

My cousin Susan is going to sing “I Will Rise” at her father’s celebration. Pray the Lord grants Susan a peace and calm and power that is a mighty evidence of the Spirit of God in her life. The Lord has given Susan a beautiful and powerful voice.
Pray for Justin, a budding young preacher, and cousin of mine, who will be speaking at the celebration. Pray the words he speaks are so steeped and grounded in the Word of the Living God that the One who sits upon the throne and welcomed my dear Uncle Bill home will be lifted high and exalted.
Pray for Tyler, a talented young woodworker, and cousin of mine, who is adding a very special touch that he has crafted to the pine box that will hold his grandfather’s frame.
As the Lord leads, please remember our family before our Father.
We celebrate the One who gave my dear Uncle Bill the Ultimate Healing.

As I write this the celebration is just beginning. What a wonderful request Uncle Bill made regarding his funeral services.

I pray that the Lord will bless all of you and especially Marie and the family members.

What a beautiful tribute to Uncle Bill. I have an Uncle Bill. This was such a special post, friend, and I hold your family in my thoughts this nice. And that Bible, is that Uncle Bill’s or yours? As a Bible should be, well read … well lived.

It is amazing, I have not met your uncle, I do not know your family, but we are family in Christ.

Lora, you do have something to celebrate your uncle Bill is home. I desire a celebration not a funeral when I leave this earth.

I have arrived here two days after the celebration but I will continue to pray for Bill’s family. This was a beautiful post to read and I love the pictures. Thank you for sharing your story.

Your tribute to your uncle is very beautiful, and I am sorry for your loss, but he leaves a powerful legacy for you all.

    With Christ’s Love,

    Andrea

oh, to have a Bible like your uncle’s!! it’s obvious just through looking at the pictures that He had a “real” relationship with his Lord.

I just came back over today to say I love you and was thinking about you. I saw your beautiful face on Danijoy’s and had to come over. I said another prayer for you and your family.

Praise the Lord that your Uncle knew the Savior and has now the ultimate Healing! This is a wonderful way to look at it. I like to call it a home going too.
Pray for you and your dear family during this time.
May you feel the warm arms of God wrapped lovingly around you.

Dear blogging friends, thank you kindly for your prayers and kind words.

Elaine, the Bible belonged to my Uncle Bill. Mine looks very similar though!

My dear brother and his family have gone home and we are getting back into our daily routine. Lord willing, I’ll be back to blogging soon.

A celebration of life, yes, when I first heard that, I thought it was the most beautiful description of an event of one’s passing on to the most coveted place, to be at the Lord’s side. My prayers are with your family and you as you all transition from the loss of your uncle. God is so wonderful, isn’t He? Peace be with you.
