I set out to re-seed a few bare areas in the yard this last week. And was a little sidetracked by the purple cone flowers,The hydrangea flower head’s starting to form and bloom,And this happy little flower. The Smoky Fennel has grown quite a bit this year. This herb has very feathery foliage. The green stalks remind me of celery.
A little bit of pink in the garden is always good. Then I got back to the re-seedingand spreading the hay. When I was done, I checked the progress of our little city garden in the country.
Victoria Leigh planted Cilantro to have it easily accessible for the Salsa Fresca.
Her squash and zucchini bin looks good.
Onions. Onions. And more onions.
We picked four different varieties of tomatoes this year.
And two different varieties of peppers.

Do you enjoy gardening?

No, I don't garden, but I love the offering from others therein. There is a house I jog by every week. With garden harvest about to be among us, I know that if a bag is hanging on the mailbox, it is for my taking.
Seeing your produce, ripens my expectation.

We had a huge garden when I was growing up. I don't miss the work, but I do long for the wonderful vegetables.
I remember very small potatoes cooked with new peas from the garden. I have tried to replicate that taste, but it is impossible without fresh from the garden veggies.

Lora: If you could talk to my family and friends and ask them that question, they would say "YES, YES, YES, JAN LOVES TO GARDEN!" So I will say, "Yes, I love to garden!" Besides my Savior Jesus Christ, and my family – gardening is my pure delight!
I literally cannot wait to walk through my garden and see what is blooming and which daylily has decided to show off for the day! My wedding anniversary is June 11, and this year my husband has blessed me with something I have wanted for a long time – raised beds for a vegetable garden.
He made them extra nice, and We used bricks left over from building our home 2 years ago – and they turned out so well. I have 4 rectangle beds and one nice round one! I'm taking pictures as the garden progresses, and hopefully I'll share them later on in the summer. I will not be able to have a summer garden because they won't be ready, but maybe I can plan to have some fall lettuce and even some turnip greens!
I enjoyed visiting your garden too!
May your soul be like a well-watered garden…Isaiah 58:11

I do not garden but one day I would like to….may be in heaven, but one day I will. My hostas are my garden and I get great joy from them. Soon I will be posting pictures of them all dressed up in their blooms.
Thanks for sharing your pictures. I enjoyed my tour of your lovely garden.

Elaine, you are blessed with good neighbors. I *might* take up running to get a bag of garden goodies.
Dani Joy, I'm sure with all the delightful dishes you make that you would miss your garden.
Holly, you bless me. And thank you.
Joy, one of my favorites from our family garden growing up we called *new potatoes and peas*. I had not heard anyone else mention it till you did. And I have not been able to replicate the taste either.
Happy Anniversary Jan! We used some leftover bricks from our home to do a bed around the circle drive in the front. Audra planted flowers and herbs there two years ago and it has become a source of great joy for me. I'll look forward to seeing your raised beds.
Leah, I loved when you shared your container garden of hostas. I look forward to seeing them in bloom.

Lovely flowers! We have many flowers here, too, but I don't know the names.
How was your weekend, Lora? 🙂

I don't like to garden but I DO love the beautiful photos you share with us. I think my issues with the bugs/worms and whatever else that may jump out of the soil just wigs me out a bit. I'm also very allergic to bee/wasp stings and if I'm in a garden I have to be careful.
I so enjoy visiting with you dear sister. I pray that you and your family are doing well. My heart is with you.
Love you.

What a beautiful garden! I do not garden, but so wish I had the "gift" to do so.
It is so wonderful because you literally eat the fruit/vegetables of your labor.
I remember my grandparents having nice gardens. Sweet memories there!
Many blessings to you. God is so good!
In His Love,
Andrea
