I have names for different rooms in my home. When my dad passed (a year ago this month) my friends came and sat with me in my office – which is our enclosed side porch. My friend Shannon, called it my Jesus Room and the name seemed so appropriate, it just stuck.
So, I have named other rooms, as well. One room, that is actually within another room, I’ve dubbed: the Holy of Holies. I talk to the LORD regularly while in there and so many times, I sense HIM speaking back to me.
It’s been a doozy of a week. When I went in to the Holy of Holies, I was praying and pouring out my heart to The LORD and was sharing with him a situation that HE already knew about; but that I was experiencing some hurt feelings over. It was at the point when I was reciting the LORD’s prayer and the line that says:
“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” that the tears started to fall.
The conviction to forgive the one who I felt like had wronged me. I would like to say that my decision to forgive was instantaneous; but it wasn’t. There was dialogue, many tears and I even re-hashed what had occured before I felt like I heard the words:
“Would you take her with you?” I knew immediately what HE meant. She too was HIS child. And one day, we would stand around the throne with HIM; but today, HE wanted me to be willing to, in my heart and mind, bring her with me, to the level ground of the unlimited access of the Holy of Holies and stand together with HIM.
It is sometimes easy to think about everyone getting along in heaven; but the reality of day to day here on earth sometimes feels like sandpaper. The knowing that GOD wanted me to experience heaven on earth in this fractured relationship, blesses me.
HE heard me.
HE loves me.
And HE hears her.
HE loves her.
We are HIS children.
We are HIS beloved.
HE desires unity.
HE desires forgiveness. Hallelujah!
Forgiveness flows,
That Our Father,
We may truly know.
HE allows me to forgive
That in unity, we may live!
Thank You Jesus!

Lora, my dad passed away last summer, too … I hear your heart today.

This is beautiful, Lora! So often we forget the person who hurt us either God's child, too, or someone who needs to become God's child.
Help us, Lord, to forgive and pave the way!
Thanks for sharing at the Loft today.
