A Beautiful Life· A Word· Friends

27 Sep

Life has its ups and downs, highs and lows, hills and valleys.

The last twenty-four hours were a low in the tide of life for me and I had three friends who came by, one right after another, yesterday and they just blessed my socks off.

Good friends are blessings!

Yesterday morning, after doing errands, I started looking for the perfect flower pot for a purple mum that I wanted to put on the dining room table.  When, out of the fact that I had looked everywhere else, I went to WalMart.  As I walked through the garden center, I saw a cart full of yellow mums, in the cutest pots, and they were marked down – an added bonus!  I went and got a cart, and instead of getting just one so I could have the cute little pot, I ended up just taking the whole cart of yellow mums because, all I could think was, I could give one to Teresa, to Vicky, to Gretchen, to Lisa, etc.

In retelling the day, I’m already thinking of the time recently that a friend gifted me with buckets of hydrangeas and the fun I had when friends came over to my flower shop to pick their bouquets! And yesterday was no different! It started when I tried to deliver one to Vicky when I found out she was close-by.  The attempt failed, and she came by the house later and we had such a fun visit. While she was here, Linda texted to say she was close by and came over. As Linda was leaving, Gretchen pulled in the driveway! It was a busy and fun day.
I am so thankful for friends that came, just when I needed them the most.  Not that we talked about the lows yesterday; but we shared life and I was able to bless with flowers.  It was just fun.  Giving was fun. Friends are blessings.
Now, I realize that not every time a speed bump in life is experienced, can friends just drop by and brighten your day; but, yesterday, I felt the tangible love of my friends and I am so blessed.
As I started typing about three friends who stopped by my home yesterday, I could not help but think of Three Friends who are always with me: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The days I am ministered to by them are many and I am thankful that They are the ultimate in friends.  They are always with me.
The friendship they provide
Is constant, ever by my side.
I also rejoice in the tangible expression of Vicky, Linda and Gretchen yesterday.  They each know Jesus, and at a time when I needed a friend, they were there.
I hope and pray that you have Vicky, Linda and Gretchen friends in your life.  Yes, there are days when the phone doesn’t ring and there are days when the doorbell doesn’t either; but I am thankful for what my friends did yesterday. Not one of the three knows the other; but what a blessing along the pilgrim pathway Vicky, Linda and Gretchen were to me.
May you experience the friendship of GOD through your friends!
HE is always there, true blue, until the very end!
Thank You LORD, for friends.
