I have a tried and true beef stew recipe. Have used it as long as I have been married, which is going on thirty years. Yes, thirty years. I am certain that I got the recipe from my mother, so I have been use to the the same tasting beef stew, for a very long time. Now, I have tried other recipes and liked them. But, I have been following the Trim Healthy Mama way for over a year now, believing that it would help me and The Salesman.
This recipe had several new-to-me options for beef stew. The biggest new was radishes instead of potatoes. And I must admit, the radishes were not so bad. There is no comparison to potatoes, in my opinion; but they were okay. I also liked that this stew recipe could be done in the crock pot. My tried and true recipe, I like to make in the crock pot as well. Another positive was that the stew meat did not need to be cooked before adding it to the crock pot. When making something in the crock pot, I like to just put the ingredients in the crockpot to cook.
I am realizing that I am trying to remain positive in this review.
The recipe may be found on page 38 of the Trim Healthy Mama cookbook. It is a satisfying recipe that is a family serve.
It smelled good while cooking in the crock pot and it looks appetizing when served…
This beef stew has many nutritious vegetables.
But the flavor of the Rich and Tender Beef Stew, was not our favorite.
If I make it again, I would probably make the gravy more like my tried and true stew recipe. Has anyone else out there tried this recipe? What are your thoughts about the flavor?
Do you have a tried and true recipe that you have used for years? If so, what is it for?
I believe I will try another Trim Healthy Mama stew recipe next time.
