Happy Memorial Day, friends! I am so thankful we can pause and celebrate those who sacrificed for our country. As I put out patriotic decor, I reflected on those who gave while serving in the armed forces and their families. Our freedom came at a great cost. I am so grateful for those who gave their lives that we may enjoy freedom.
Thank you.
It has been a busy week, and because I am having so much fun going through my drafts folder of posts that I’ve never published, I offer this gem from 2008 for your reading pleasure! It is my oldest draft…almost 10 years ago… Yes, I do like organizing and I’m currently using the recipe folders that were new then, still today.
10/2/2008:
My recipe folders encounter much use and for some time I’ve been looking for just the file folders to replace them. I found some lovely green and brown folders at Tuesday Morning.
Some of my folders showed more signs of wear than others.
So as I evaluated each foler, I had a recylce stack and a “hello trash can” stack.
This stack of folers are in pretty good shape and can be recycled in my home and school cabinet.
I seemed to have more in the beyond recycling category.
The next step was to find a good pen or marker. Living with an Author who loves pens and a Saleman who needs them for people to sign deals with, I had a great selection within the walls of our home. Here are the four finalist. Since there were extra labels included in the packages I purchased, I tried all the pens on an actual label that I would be using. I’ve learned this from previous experiences. Sometimes you like how a pen writes on paper; but a label can be a different story.
And the winner for this project is…..drum roll…….. the BIC Grip Roller! Yeah!
Then starting with my first folder, Appetizers, I made a new label. Then took the recipes out of the old folder and put them in the new, neatly labeled folder. Double checked to make sure I every recipe out of the folder and then decided if my old folder could be recycled or if it needed to go in the “hello trash” stack.
Continuing on through the alphabet, stopping to browse some folders; but staying on task.
