Happy birthday week to my parents! Seventy-seven on Sunday, for my dad, and last weekend, 75 for my mom. Pictured is my own personal field of flowers stitched with love, by my dear mom. And my dear dad built the frame, and they gave it to me on my 10th birthday! If you were at my dad’s celebration of life service, you know a glimpse of the full beauty of this gift, and what it represents to me.
And this morning, I heard of my friend Kara’s field of daises gift that she received for her 11th birthday, and was once again reminded of Father God who loves me.
Oh, the depth of love, this handmade gift continues to give,
Though on this earth, they no longer live.
Through it, heaven, and those apart of the great cloud,
Sing HIS love to me, out loud.
I dearly miss them so,
Yet their legacy blooms and grows.
Happy birthday Mom and Dad,
This gift you gave me, makes my sorrow, not so sad.
