‘Tis the time of year when I remember
Though their lives have now ended
I am so thankful for them both.
Parents are gifts.
If you have your parents with you here on earth, embrace them.
If they have gone on to heaven, give thanks, they will be seen again.
Mom and Dad,
In the month of your birth,
I value you and honor your worth.
While here, you did your very best.
Now for eternity, your souls are at rest.
I miss you.
I do.
But with thanksgiving,
I will joyfully keep living and giving.
Following your example and ways,
Thanking GOD for your days.
You framed and molded,
Taught and enfolded.
My heart is so full
Thinking of the sacrifice you made for us to go to school.
I appreciate your diligent work and labor
And your expressed love for our neighbors.
The giving, the going,
The outings, the sewing,
The sunshine, the rain,
Through the sorrow and through the pain,
The constant love and care,
You were always there.
You served and embraced and loved
And are now part of the “great cloud of witnesses” above.
Such a lovely bride and groom,
Your legacy lives beyond the tomb.
I miss you.
I do.
My heart, is ever grateful for both of you.
I miss you.
I do.
Mom and Dad on their wedding day, 1963.
