Can you even believe that Christmas is five days away?!? What a wonderful and exciting time of the year.
We’ve been attending the Living Christmas Tree at First Baptist Church for many years. This year was the twenty-second year for the church to host the performance, and twenty-two of us planned to go together to see our friend dance in the ballet portion of the program. We had so much fun attending together, and our ballerina did a phenomenal job.
The church is beautiful and has the largest chandeliers ever, which you will see a portion of them in each picture. The light displays were amazing. This first picture of the ceiling is my favorite because I remember the feeling of amazement and beauty when I looked up. It was like having a host of stars just beyond arms length.
With the enormous tree, stately architecture, two high-definition screens, a choir decked out in tuxes and sequins, and a beautiful orchestra, it would have been easy to miss the beauty on the ceiling.
I loved these shots of the ballet portion of the program. The ballerinas looked like they belonged on a jewelry box. You know, the kind you would wind up with the turn knob on the back and then gently open to hear lovely music as they pirouette and were on pointe?
So graceful.
So lovely.
So serene.
Then at the end of the program, they were like angels with their golden wings. Glorious!
Look up, friends!
And a very Merry Christmas to you!
