Happy weekend, friends!
I’m always on the lookout for beauty – the natural, the manmade, the ever clear and abundant displays that are before me. While strolling along one evening in a hutong with Victoria Leigh and Thomas, her friend, my eyes were drawn up to this beautiful vignette.
Though the electric lamp light is diffused, it drew my gaze up to see a large hand-crafted example of Chinese knotting. I love that lamp light allows us to see. Because of a light that is not beautiful in any shape or form, we can see so much more.
A large, worn threshold
Worn tread on a step
Chinese guardian lion statues
An anchoring beam beside the statue and under the door
A massive wood door with intricate ironwork
Grey brick with light mortar
Plants and trees
Stone floor
Blue and white planters
A red canister
Gourds hanging in a line
Birdcage
Exposed beams
Ironwork
Light, above and beyond
There is beauty all around us. May you find the beauty that is before you, and beyond.
