Trim Healthy Mama Crispy, Crunchy Okra Review

Trim Healthy Mama

27 Jan

Mamas, if you haven’t made the Trim Healthy Mama Crispy, Crunchy Okra, you have to go make it!  It is delicious!  And The Salesman approves!  I think your pickiest eater would like the THM Crispy, Crunchy Okra.

As a Trim Healthy Mama, we have been known to use okra as a secret ingredient in other recipes to get the health benefits; but there is no hiding any okra here.

Okra it is and Okra is it.

I marveled when I took it out of the oven at how much it looked like fried okra.  Then, I tasted it…crispy, crunchy… it tasted like fried okra.

Knowing you are going to want to make this one, I’m sharing the details right away before I go down memory lane with my okra story:

Cookbook: Trim Healthy Table

Chapter: Veggies & Salad Sides
Page: 263
Recipe:
Crispy, Crunchy Okra
Serving:  Multiple Serve
Fuel: S – Satisfying or FP – Fuel Pull if done in an Air-Fryer
In my growing up years, my mom would fry okra from our garden for dinner. I remember, it was delicious.  She would coat the okra in meal and sizzle it in her iron skillet till it was crispy and then remove it to drain on paper towels.  I’d be more than willing to sample the hot morsels from the paper towels.  Good food, and good memories.
This Trim Healthy Mama Crispy, Crunchy Okra rivals my childhood memories.  Yes, it does.  And mamas, the recipe calls for frozen okra.  How much easier could this recipe be?  I just don’t think it gets any easier than this recipe.  You don’t even have to wash and cut okra, just buy the frozen diced okra.  And it is not slimy at all.

My only regret was that I made half a recipe the first time I tried this recipe.  It is easy peasy to make and there were no leftovers!  Not only is this dish a great side to your meal, I think this okra would be a tasty snack too.

I will make this recipe again, and again.  If you try it, I think you will too!

Enjoy!
