Scripture Memory Team – Verse 3

Scripture Memory Team

15 Apr

Hi friends!  It’s time for our next memory verse and I’m so excited!  I am memorizing Philippians 4:4-8, so this week I am on the second verse in this passage:

Lora Osburn, Morristown, TN:  Philippians 4:5  “Show a gentle attitude toward everyone. The Lord is coming soon.” Good News Translation

It is such a perfect verse for today! Times are uncertain and unprecedented and unpredictable; but, I can be gentle to everyone!  It is a choice.  Being gentle, or humble, or gracious, toward everyone is what I desire to give, and what I’d like to receive from others, as well.  A gentle look, a gentle word, a gentle action, a gentle response, can make a world of difference.  Having a gentle attitude toward others is a way to honor them.  Oh, this verse is such a good and timely reminder. And the second sentence in my verse is a guaranteed reminder that the Lord is coming soon!

What about you?  What verse are you going to put to memory this time? Join me in memorizing Philippians 4:5 if you don’t have one picked out.  Or consider memorizing the following:

“And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.” 2 Corinthians 9:8 NIV

I am so looking forward to hearing what verse you are going to memorize this time! Start with your name and town in the comments, then the verse and the version that it is from.  I have written my verse on a 3 x 5 card to be a visual for me to carry around as I memorize it and I encourage you to do the same.  I am so thankful we are on this journey of memorizing the Word together.  We will be back on the first and the fifteenth of May, and each following month, to memorize more Scripture.

May the Lord bless you and keep you!
