Guest post by my friend, Mark Lewis, whose words bring together the Finding Beauty in Every Face and Place mission perfectly. All the words shared here today are Mark’s.
And the photo of the primrose was taken by my friend, Sadie Lewis.
These flowers have a beauty that can be seen with the eyes, but they also have a beauty that goes far beyond eyesight. After my Mamaw Speers died, my wife uprooted a couple of these flowers from beside Mamaw’s driveway and replanted them outside of the doorway of our home. Every time I walk in or out of that door, I see these beautiful flowers. Mamaw’s flowers. And, every time that I see Mamaw’s flowers, I see her smile, hear her laughter, and see the twinkle of joy in her eyes.
Over the years, what began as only a few flowers has become a wonderful full bed of flowers that expands every year, so even though she has been gone for years, I see more of Mamaw all of the time. I am so thankful that God has placed small reminders of beauty in my life. If you will look carefully, with the eyes of your heart, you will find that He has lovingly placed some small reminders of beauty around you too. He is so good.
