Ok, so I am still not back to a normal routine because I have been writing to complete my teaching to turn in to Proverbs 31 for the First 5 app, so today, I bring you country cooking courtesy of my mother-in-love’s kitchen. Oh my goodness, y’all, she is the best country cook ever. This Sunday roast and vegetables was a joint effort from The Salesman’s parents.
And then there were the tomatoes my father-in-love grows in the garden. They are my favorite…
He also grows potatoes in the garden and Grandma might fix one, or two, or ten, or add the ones in the first picture and we probably had fifteen!
Grandpa and I were asked to sample the green beans while Grandma was cooking them on the stovetop to see if they needed any more salt or oil. I was tempted to say they only needed my teeth; but, Grandpa said they needed salt. She cooked two large pots of half-runners on the cooktop. We were so blessed to share the meal with all of the family, minus our China Doll.
Garden vegetables are some of my favorites. Are you all enjoying garden vegetables these days? If so, what are your favorites?
