This picture is so beautiful to me. It was taken at the Biltmore on January 3, 2018 while The Salesman and Victoria Leigh and I toured the grounds. As I remember the day, it was the coldest one ever; but, the people and the place warmed my heart and we really enjoyed our time together.
I had it on my mind to share this favorite picture because I finished a writing assignment and though I have many beautiful pictures from this last week, I just kept thinking of this one. I felt like I agreed with the posture of the statue as I pressed the submit button: head back, hand raised, and soaking in the sun (The Son).
And then I found some words I had written to go along with the picture, and they so encouraged me, and seemed applicable to today, so, I thought I’d share them along with the picture. May you be encouraged, too.
“I believe He has positioned us firmly to face the bright openings of a new year and capture the vast expanse of new opportunities! WooHoo! It’s going to be a great year! It’s a faith walk: the not knowing, the new, the vast expanse that looks sparse or distant; but, new is out there, for me, for you. To raise high what is in our hand and allow the action of opening up to Him to capture more rays of what He is releasing: to see, to hear, to know, and grow. Although the foundation and future is unseen, He is a firm foundation. And because He is a firm foundation, we are stable and secure in, and on, Him. In the unknown, we can know Him. In the unseen, we can see Him. In the silence, we can hear Him. In each new year, we can grown in wisdom and knowledge and in favor with GOD and man.”
I hope you have a wonderful and wonder filled weekend.
Happy weekend, friends!
