Happy first of July!
It is exciting to start a new month and to have a new memory verse! Friends, we are on verse 8! We started back in March and look how many verses we have memorized! Way to go!!! I have finished my passage in Philippians and am moving on to a verse in the Psalms. For this current season, I have been enjoying reading a chapter in Psalms every day. What joy and delight it has been to read of David’s dependance on God through the highs and lows in life. The prayers, the poetry, the praise, and the encouragement is so very timely.
The verse that keeps coming to my mind is my entry for verse 8:
Lora Osburn, Morristown, TN, “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14, NKJV
I’m usually pretty mindful about the words that I speak; but, it’s that second part that is hitting the target of my heart: the mediation – my thoughts – I want them to be acceptable, too. And I just loved the New King James version that capitalized, O LORD, and calls Him my strength. I need the LORD to be my strength.
I so look forward to reading what verse you are choosing to memorize. You are welcome to choose your own verse, the one that resonates with your present circumstances, or join in memorizing the verse that I’ve selected to put to memory. Please list your name, city, verse, reference, and Bible translation in the comments. I sure do love memorizing the Word with you all.
