Now before you think I’ve lost my mind, I want to explain my box of dusty vintage canning jars. No, they don’t look like much do they? They are old and dirty and dusty. And you are probably wondering how on earth I could find beauty in these jars! Especially since you know that I have never used a pressure cooker and I have absolutely no desire to do so. Well, when I look at these jars, I see beyond the film that covers them.
- The jars were given to my by someone special
- The jars belonged to someone that holds a special place in my heart
- I see the value and potential of what the jars could be
I know that the jars are just material things; but I value the relationships with the loved ones connected to the jars. I’m thankful they shared them with me and I’m thinking once these jars are cleaned up, they could hold paint brushes or drawing pencils on Victoria’s desk. Or, it may be that Audra would choose to have them hold silverware on her kitchen counter. I may fill one with colorful old buttons or with a succulent. Oh, the possibilities and potential.
I see beauty in these jars, oh yes I do!
Look up, my friends, there is beauty all around us.
