Scripture Memory Team – Verse 14

Scripture Memory Team· SSMT

1 Oct

Happy October 1st, friends!  I’m thrilled that today is Scripture Memory Team day!

First, I am going to type my last memory verse to see how well I did in memorizing:

“My soul rests in God alone, My salvation is from him.” Psalm 62:1

And…I did it! Yay!

For verse 14, I am have selected the Dwell Differently memorization plan verse! I believe the Dwell concept works of breaking down the verse into the first letter of each word, then seeing, recalling, and repeating it.

Here is my Dwell verse:

Lora, Morristown, TN – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galations 5:22-23

And here is the Dwell Devotional that was mailed along with the 3 tattoos, and verse key fob:

“Wow. That list.  Don’t you want people to say those qualities are true of you?  Don’t you want to be characterized by love and kindness, patience and faithfulness? But how? Do we just go on a quest to be better or more moral; do we just need to try harder?

“The verse says, “No.” For the Christian, those virtues, that fruit in our lives comes from the Holy Spirit, who lives in us.  He’s the one who supernaturally gives us joy, even in hard times.  The Spirit of God alone can give us the patience we need for that repeat offender.  Only by the Spirit can we truly live and grow in faithfulness for a lifetime.

“It is not in us to muster up these attributes, not long term, not in fullness.  Rather, these traits are the byproducts of the Spirit, who lives in us and puts his beauty on display in us as we walk in step with him.  Are you walking in step with the Spirit?”

I love the devotional they shared for so many reasons; but, the fact that it ended with beauty was special to me.

Please put your verse in the comments and let’s work the next two weeks to write His words on our hearts and minds.  I sure do love you and esteem you highly in love! I am so glad that you are a part of the Scripture Memory Team!
