While out walking this week, I saw a lone golden leaf framed by fern-like mimosa leaves. I did a double take because the leaf appeared to be in the shape of a heart, and sure enough, on closer inspection, it was. While the majority of ours leaves are already scattered to the ground and most branches are bare, here was one lovely heart shaped leaf as if it were a love note tied to a tree, just for me. There is so much beauty on display from our Creator. I’m sharing my heart shaped love note with you today, because I want you to know that you are loved, too.
Then I did some thinking on the beautiful representation of love that I’d seen…
What if love was the last leaf left hanging around in this season?
What if what we saw as loss or transition was really life and love?
What if love just remained?
What if it were true that the greatest truly was love?
What if we remembered The One who willingly gave His life on a tree for you and for me?
What if?
I am not here to change your opinion or sway your political views. I am here to tell you that in uncertain times, I feel, and see, the very tangible love of God. God gave Jesus on a tree two thousand years ago and this lone leaf twined to a tree was like a personal love note form the One who gave with a love that gave all.
And because of His great love, I’m out here treasure hunting for beauty and looking for what is good and kind and pure and worthy of praise. I didn’t have to look far, this beautiful heart shaped leaf twined to a mimosa branch is in my own back yard.
Love notes tied to trees.
I sure do love Him. And, I sure do love you. I want this place to be a place where you feel the tangible love of God. If you haven’t encountered a love note this week, consider this your love note.
Look up, my friends, there is beauty, and love, all around us.
Have a wonder filled weekend.
