I open the blinds to see a grey haze
Sometime I feel like the weather reflects my hearts maze
As my grey matter thinks of the grey haze
Rainy days are not so bad
Reminding my spirit it is ok to be sad
To hurt, to long, to feel you have a long way to go
To not know the answers or to have to say “no”
Life has curves and sorrow and hurts
Problems, complications, those without homes and work
The weather reminds me we will weather the weather
Together
LORD, may I see YOU in seasons of rain
Where each droplet falling echoes a pain
LORD, I want to see YOU in the clouds, the haze, the rain
Come be close in sorrow, heartache, and pain
I venture out to see the droplets formed upon, of all trees,
The weeping cherry, and YOU remind me:
“You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 NLT
And at each droplet, I look
And am reminded, YOU have recorded e.a.c.h. o.n.e. in YOUR book
YOU are mindful. YOU notice tears. YOU look.
My GOD has a bottle for each tear, and a book
Through a single raindrop that reminds me of a tear
YOU remind me every one I cry, to YOU, is dear
YOU take the sorrow and water a sad refrain
To bring Springtime thoughts to season of tears/rain
YOU take sorrow, heartache, wanderings, the tossings of life, and rain
And hold us close in, and through, our pain
You water gardens
Soften what we feel has hardened
Buds become blooms
Rain opens tombs
You hold each tear
Reminding in a single raindrop, we are dear
You hold each tear
In Your bottle, Your book
Rainy days, I’m secure in The Shepherd’s crook.
