Kind.
Compassionate.
Forgiving.

Makes me think of KFC and the Salesman’s fondness for finger lickin’ chicken. I think I will *borrow* the acronym and switch it up a bit..
To read the words, it sounds so easy, doesn’t it?
Let’s look up each word so we are all on the same page – or in the same KFC bucket, so to say!
Kind – sympathetic, helpful, tender, considerate, of a forbearing nature…
Compassion – strong feeling of sympathy that makes you want to help them…
Forgiving – decision to release resentment and vengeance toward someone who has harmed you…
Well now, it doesn’t sound as easy, does it?
I can just speak for me.
Being kind to those that have hurt me does not always come as easily as deciding between a combo, meal, or a box of chicken. In fact, I find myself having to boss my flesh and wrestle it down and tell it take a seat in the back and pray that Spirit Lora would stand in the front with authority over any thought, word, or action.
The vivid picture imprinted from the Passion of the Christ movie of Jesus taking a lashing for my sin causes me to pause when I think of holding onto my bucket of chicken/blessings/gifts just for me. Jesus was moved with compassion for me, may I be more willing to give from the bucket He’s loaned me.
You know that line in the Lord’s prayer: “forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us…” Yes, it’s my prayer every single day. Sometimes I want to hold onto the Colonel’s crisps so to say, instead of releasing every offense, person, or situation to The King.
