Happy Scripture Memory Team day!
My Dwell Differently verse is exactly what I need this month:
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
Does anyone else need to hear the message:
Do not give up.
I need the encouragement of this verse because I have felt weary lately.
There is much going on in our world, country, and this last month, even an occurrence in our local community caused me discouragement.
It is easy to get tired of plodding along sowing seeds of kindness and goodness and love to be smacked in the face of opposition, or even evil.
Or to make it a bit more personal than global, we:
Help; but it doesn’t appear to work
Forgive, again
Be kind and are met with mean
Share truth and find lies
Sometimes the temptation to quit is larger than life. The discouragement is real. The worn out feeling seeks to settle in our bones. I’ve learned to validate that my feelings are real; but, I can’t set up camp with them and stay there.
I have to return to the household of faith and the fields that are white unto harvest. We must not stop planting good seeds.
The antithesis of good is out there:
It is real.
It is seen.
It is felt.
However, we can not give up.
Pack up the camping gear of weariness and get back to the daily routines of doing good.
Do not give up.
Continue on.
The Truth of the Word says that we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Let’s keep being kind.
Let’s keep loving.
Let’s keep serving.
Let’s keep praying.
Let’s keep singing.
Let’s keep sharing Truth.
