Scripture Memory Team 2021 – Verse 12

Scripture Memory Team

1 Dec

I am so excited to announce this month’s verse for two reasons:

  1.  We have learned 11 verses this year!
  2.  I am starting an Advent & Art series this month on my Instagram Stories and this verse tattoo art will kick off that study!

Never in my wildest dreams would I have considered a tattoo art; but, here I am older and wiser – and still very appreciative of the art of my younger years.  The Andrew Wyeth book that my mama kept on the marble coffee table that would draw me in like a magnet to sit on that gold shag carpet and turn the pages wide-eyed.  Or to the Old Masters collection that I *had* to see when a student at BJU, to the un-numbered times I’ve been back to leisurely stroll through the galleries.

Our verse:

“The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”   John 1:14a

The Authority of all authorities left every kingly right of power and circumstance to became of no circumstance that you and I would consider our eternal circumstances.

The Word came as a babe.  When I see a babe, my arms instinctively reach out.

Oh that we would reach out in our hurting and helpless estates to Him who gave up every thing to live as we do upon this earth.

Why would someone do that?

He who was so holy and mighty, laid aside everything most of us would want to dwell among us.

Could that, would that, we could reach beyond the trappings of this world for an eternal kingdom.

He who made His dwelling among us offers us an eternal dwelling.

Let’s extend our arms and hearts beyond what we see to The Word that bids you choose to dwell among Him.

The beautiful story of salvation begins here, my friends.
