Happy June and Happy Scripture Memory Team Day, my friends!
I am so thankful we are a team that is memorizing Truth.
The verse we are joining together to learn this month is Hebrews 2:1:
“We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”
This verse is so timely to learn especially with the month that welcomes summer since we tend to relax our schedules during this season.
I’ve been thinking about taking a break from a lot of *things* this summer; but one thing I do not want to take a break from, is the reading, praying, speaking, and memorizing the Word of God.
To drift means “to be carried slowly by a current of air or water” according to the New Oxford American Dictionary.
It’s easy to drift.
The forces from wind or waves can move us.
I remember childhood vacations at the beach and riding the waves on a faded denim blue and yellow raft.
We’d start out in the water in front of where our parents were soaking up the sun on the shore, and just a few waves later we could drift several umbrellas away from them.
Drifting is gradual.
The Word of God is my anchor through the ebbing and flowing tides of life.
Or we can feel pulled by gale forces to pull us of heavenly courses.
Oh the Word,
That we’ve heard,
Can be the Source
That keeps us on a Godly course.
Amen.
Let’s learn the Word together.
Joining the Scripture Memory Team is easy.
If you want to join, comment and you are a part of the team to memorize the verse with us.
We use the Dwell Differently system of memorizing that includes a monthly kit that includes a temporary tattoo that aids in hiding God’s Word in our hearts.
Mid-month, I will post a reel on Instagram and you are welcome to type your verse out in the comments ~ by memory ~ and post where you are from.
When you have it memorized, type it out in your Instagram or Facebook stories and tag me OR record a story of you saying it from memory and tag me and I will share it because speaking the Word is powerful!
It’s fun to memorize Scripture.
I sure do love you.
