Heaven looked down
Saw Jesus with His thorny crown
Pierced hands, side, and feet
I wonder if there were tears at the mercy seat
As Our Lord hung upon the cross
His life ebbed and all seemed lost
He suffered
He died for you and me
And yet, when the veil is torn,
and all seems forlorn
The God of heaven had the eternal view
God was not wondering what to do
A Father’s love was about to brim
His only Son saved us from sin
Gods view was beyond man’s ways,
And God knew what would occur, in only three days
God knew what seemed our Savior’s end
With certainty, would burst forth and rise again
Oh, the grave will not hold Him in
Death will be defeated, Jesus will rise again!
