Green. A study in green from my Green friend in a cement urn discarded by one and rescued by yours truly. Although lifting it from that roadside heap to my car should’ve earned me a lifting medal… Or at least, time off from the gym. My thoughts meander like I did in the courtyard this last week as I was drawn to the color of new life that returns year after year in this vintage urn. Some friends are like this Sedum: Perennials and not annuals
Some are with ya
Through it all
The seasons of wind, sun, snow, and rain
Some rise up from winter while others simply wash away with the rain
Hear my refrain
Some friendships are growing and flourishing and God ordained
Some wash easily with the rain
There are annuals and perennials
Gen X and millennials
All ages. All kinds.
Some are easy. Some stretch my heart and mind.
I’ve learned, am learning, never be unkind
People are hurt and hurting.
Keep watering, keep doing good, keep shining in ways to bless and to give your very best;
But, like the flowers, some friends are annuals and some are perennials.
My Saturday morning up too early – when you don’t have to be – thoughts. I simply was going to share this beauty from the courtyard and it turns into a seeing seasonal relationships.
