On the eve of what would’ve been Grandma Mavis’s 99th birthday, I am giving these magnolia branches “a good bath” as she would say when I cleaned house for her and she wanted something REALLY clean. I came to find out that that phrase meant not to dust or wipe; but to immerse. I’m so thankful that she immersed me, my husband, my children and my husband’s family into the goodness and the graces of the love of Jesus that flowed from her heart. While the water was filling the sink for the baptism of the branches, I think how her love was much like the cleaning lesson she taught me: it was not in part; but was flowing and filling.
I miss her dearly.
Yet, I think of her now, totally immersed with the One that so evidently flowed through her veins
And oh, I praise His name!
She’s experiencing that full immersion
because I know she had a holy conversion.
