Scripture Memory Team 2026 – Verse 6

Scripture Memory Team

1 Jun
Happy June! And, a Happy Scripture Memory Team day! 🌿🌿
For Mother’s Day I was given a beautiful four-scenes-in-one-puzzle and a set of sorter boxes – which was so helpful with 1000 pieces. The different scenes reminded me of the four seasons. I completed what I considered the easiest sections of this puzzle first, gravitating to the light colored scenes. The last section I pieced together was VanGogh’s “Wild Roses” which although beautiful, had basically four different colors: black, green, blue, and white. In life I’m drawn to flowers, so I started the section with the white wild roses. I then moved to the green, blue, and black. The darker, seemingly similar colors were challenging to me; but I found the morning light streaming in the French doors helped.
My gifted puzzle is a great segway into this month’s Scripture memory team verse, Ecclesiastes 3:1:
“There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens.”
I prefer to be in the lighter, or easier, seasons of life. I am thankful to be coming out of what’s seemed like a looong healing season. It’s also been a season of loss and sorrow with my brother’s passing. Like the dark pieces of the puzzle, I would not have selected any of the aforementioned to be part of my season.
Sometimes we welcome new seasons, especially the good, generous, and fruitful ones, with great fanfare and tend to cross our arms, turn our back, or snub our nose at the seasons of sickness, sadness, and waiting.
It’s hard to embrace where we are when we don’t want to wrap our arms around the season we are in. But acknowledging where we are is so important and according to this month’s verse, there is a time for everything and a season for everything- including the very season that we are in – whether we have sorted it to be light or dark.
And, the Lord is with us! Summer, winter, spring time, or harvest – makes me think of words from the old hymn, Great is thy Faithfulness.
Let’s remember when life, and seasons, are puzzling, The Lord, He is with us! Jesus understands what we are going through and HE will get us through. Hallelujah. Jesus wept, laughed, loved, and endured great and searing loss. He is with you in this season, lean into Him.
