Happy August! And happy Scripture Memory Team day!
The Salesman‘s dad turned 86 and family gathered to celebrate him. I was so tickled to be with them as my health had kept me from too many gatherings. What a gift to be with the family that I married into and love so very dearly. My “being with” ties in with this month’s Scripture memory verse:
“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:20b
There are times in life when we feel alone. I remember specific transitions where the Lord sent a friend to walk-through a season with me. Like Cheryl, who angelically appeared when our oldest left home, or Kim when I was hosting the *Friday Night Lights* Bible study, or Robin who stepped in when my health crashed. As I reflect, I see the Lord sent friends to walk with me; but I know people cannot always be with us. But hallelujah, there is one – Jesus – who is with us always!
I am so thankful for the gift of Jesus always being with.
When people leave, or set sail,
or if you feel weak and frail,
Jesus will not fail.
We are never alone – we have an always gift –
of Jesus being with.
Here’s a few pictures from the birthday party!
Grandma enjoying Gretchen and JK’s wedding pictures

Grandma and Ben – her face was so precious!

Gretchen always outdoes herself! She made a wonderful healthy, and delicious, meal and ordered pizza and calzones for those who wanted.

The guys *had to* play Rook!

Visiting and playing.

I loved the look on Jocelyn’s face while hugging the birthday boy.

The birthday boy colored this.

Julie brought a Scripture coloring book and we visited and colored.

What a gift to *be with* family.
