Happy October 1st and Happy Scripture Memory Team Day, friends!
Most of you know that I’m a member of the Dwell monthly memorization tool kit. Near the end of every month, I anticipate receiving a bright yellow envelope in our mailbox that contains the new monthly verse on a temporary tattoo, keychain tag, and a print.
The tools help me to memorize God’s Word. I apply the tattoo to my hand or forearm, put the tag on my keychain, and place the print in my kitchen windowsill at the sink.
This month’s verse is so timely:
‘Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:16
I don’t know about you; but, I’ve had opportunity to become discouraged about some *things* recently. How about you? Do you get tired of situations or heartaches or loss or the realities of life, so much so, that you lose heart?
Anyone?
This last year and a half, our country, our churches, and our families all have gone through challenging times. When I think about the heartaches and burdens of life, it’s easy to get worn out and discouraged.
Just the thought of being renewed is certainly welcoming.
Would that everything, yes everything, be renewed.
By definition, renewed means: having been resumed, re-established, or revived.
Yes Lord, do that in me day by day.
I love that the LORD works on the inside of me – the part that no ones sees. I can go to the car wash and clean up the outside; but, Lord opens the door to my interior and renews and refreshes my innermost being with more of His peace and love.
I am thankful that He is at work in me day by day from the inside out.
