The March Scripture Memory Team verse is simple and straightforward this month.
But that doesn’t mean the instructions given in James 1:22 are easy:
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves.
Do what it says.”
James 1:22
Being a passive listener is far easier than putting hands and feet and thought and talk to the words that we read on the pages; but if we remain listeners, the word says, we’re telling ourselves a lie.
Why?
We must DO what it tells us.
If we are not doing the word, y’all, we are deceived.
It’s either Do or be Deceived.
When my children were little, I would ask them, “When is what you’ve heard going to sink into your heart and change what your hands and feet do?”
Today as I read our Scripture memory verse, I find I’m asking myself those words I asked of my children several decades ago.
More so, I hear my Heavenly Father who loves me and wants His very best for me saying, “Beloved child, will you do what you’ve heard?”
Let’s March forward this month and take the action of memorizing the Word together!
