A Lovely Trim Healthy Mama Charcuterie Board

Happy December!  It is hard to believe the year is almost over! This month will fly by with fun Christmas activities and social gatherings. Do you all have a busy month planned?

I enjoy all the social functions this month brings.  One of my favorites at parties are the charcuterie boards. I like the colors, textures, and interesting mix of foods.  They always look so nice and make a great appetizer or meal.  Plus, they are all the craze right now and you can find hundreds of pictures to help you artfully style one.  So, we put one together here at the house, spur-of-the-moment, for a small gathering and it was fun and easy!  And delicious.

We did not go out and buy any special ingredients, but used what we had on hand:

Cheese – three different varieties – Aldi always has a great selection
Crackers – cheese straws – These came from our local box store
Fresh Fruit – blueberries, raspberries, pear, mandarin oranges
Dried Fruit – apricots
Nuts – almonds and walnuts
Herbs – fresh
Flowers – white blooms from a plant purchased at Ingles

As a Trim Healthy Mama, I would stick to the fresh fruit and cheese and nuts.  Often I make cheese crackers, but these came from a local store – we just used what was on hand. I just realized that we always have Wasa crackers – that would have made it a 100% Trim Healthy Mama Charcuterie Board! But, not everyone eating from the board at our impromptu gathering was a Trim Healthy Mama. So many fun options for living the Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle though.

Have you made a charcuterie board?  If so, what do you like to use to make yours?

I hope all you mamas have a wonder filled holiday season.
