When the Speaker can’t Speak

A Beautiful Life· Outside My Comfort Zone· Reflections· Speaking

25 Sep
Recently, I went to a banquet for Hidden Treasures Academy, and was having the most delightful time visiting with new and old friends, but when it came to the Honor and Recognition segment of the program, the school founder read some very nice sentiments about the Circle of Honor Award recipient.
I had no idea it was me until she read my name.
I cried all the way to the microphone and back. Yes, that is what happens when a speaker gets an award…I couldn’t speak!  As the tears flowed, and my friend and founder gave me the award, I was told I didn’t have to speak.  Thank you, Jesus!  Good grief, I was a crying mess.  And at the microphone, I could have been a crying and blubbering mess.  I am humbled and honored that the favorite place I go to speak and share honored me.  Wow.  I am still as surprised today as I was last week., and I am filled with appreciation and gratitude.
