I hope you had a wonderful Easter! We did. As we navigate the holidays without the children at home, each one is a new adventure. Last year we went to North Carolina and West Virginia for Easter. This year, we were close to home.
Victoria was home last weekend, and Audra visited several times during the week; but it was just The Salesman and me for Easter!
Since, I enjoy pictures, we will do an Easter pictorial.
Enjoy!
The first picture was the Good Friday table decoration at home. The palm leaf Victoria made circa 2002. The children’s artwork is, and always has been, my favorite decor! We made the crown of thorns from vines in our yard when we lived on West Fourth Avenue. The goblets were wedding gifts almost 30 years ago. I made the napkins while in college. The Aristocrat china was Grandma Bea’s and the nails and barb wire were later additions from my grandparents home.
On Saturday, I picked up some lovely tulips at Aldi’s, and as they were unfolding, against the background of the grey slate, it seemed that the picture echoed that all of creation must wait.
I made Angel Eggs.
And some cookies from one the Pioneer Woman’s recipes. I had plenty cookies to share – it made 131 cookies. I had tried this recipe years ago for Hyacinths Everything Cookies and they were a hit with my family, so I resurrected the recipe with our Easter gathering in mind. These cookies do have sugar and gluten in them. I did try them and, they were good!
Church was amazing…
I came home and snapped this glorious picture while loading the car and before heading out to the country for lunch.
Where there were many good friends and so much food!
One of my favorite ladies was there. She had been sick for quite some time and it was a treat to visit with her.
And there were children and babies there too. While the Easter egg hunters were running around filling their eggs with baskets, this little darlin’ was trying to go to sleep.
My friend, Peggy, and I had fun playing with the bendable bunnies that were in some of the Easter eggs the kids found. Since we are in the production of Harvey, we named them “Pooka Peeps” and had so much fun!
More babies…
More playing with the peeps:
It was a fun day! How about you? How was your Easter? What did your plans include for Easter? I’d love to hear about your day!
