Trim Healthy Mama Transformer Fudge Brownies Review

A Beautiful Life· In the American kitchen· The Salesman· Trim Healthy Mama· Victoria Leigh

5 Feb

Good morning, mama’s! Happy Monday!

We are going to start off the week with a dessert recipe from the new Trim Healthy Table Cookbook! I am trying to make a new recipe every week.  Some weeks I am trying several.  Do you all try new recipes often? Or do you find some that you like, and make the same ones over? Have you all purchased the new cookbook? If so, what are your favorite recipes? It seems like I have tried more of the main meal recipes from the Trim Healthy Table, so this week, I’m going to review a sweet recipe! Yay!
The Transformer Fudge Brownies are from the Cookies Brownies and Pies chapter and you will find it on page 403. It is a Multiple Serve recipe, and for me, that meant about 16 servings in an 8 inch square pan.  If you all have the cookbook, the picture of this dessert looked so good. Seriously, it reminded me of a Chick-Fil-A brownie, and I wish I could say that mine looked like the picture.  It did not.  Mine looked good; but no where near as good as the picture in the cookbook.  And to be up-front, it did not taste like a Chick-Fil-A brownie either.  Not that the cookbook claimed that it would. Before I went sugar free, the CFA brownie (original recipe), was one of my favorite sweets.  Then they (Chick-Fil-A) changed the recipe to a new brownie and lost me as a fan.  Now Chick-Fil-A is one of the best fast food experiences, in my opinion, because of the people and the customer service you experience at their establishment.  Anyway, I digress.
Maybe because I had the Chick-Fil-A brownie all built up in my mind, this just did not cut it for me.  The Salesman would not even try them, so I can’t give you his vote.  Victoria thought they were delicious!  So there you go: a thumbs down, no thumb, and a thumbs up, equals a mixed review…

But look at this, you all! Doesn’t it look good? And the picture in the cookbook is a gazillion times better than my picture!

The ganache icing looks so good.  I did not like the caramel flavor though.  If I make these again, I will not add the caramel flavor to the icing.

This is a serving after it was refrigerated for a couple days. It looks really good, you all.  And to Victoria Leigh, it tasted really good too! I would gladly make these again for her.  The things we parents do for our beloved children. Yes, indeed.

Enjoy!
