Trim Healthy Mama Brownie Fudge

A Beautiful Life· The Salesman· Trim Healthy Mama· Victoria Leigh

15 Jan
Good morning!!!
Today I am breaking from my rut of sharing comforting casseroles to a delicious dessert!  Maybe I have been in a dessert rut, too?  Because I am a fan of the Trimastic Cake and the Okra cookies (my name for the Chocolate Moisties), that were in the original Trim Healthy Mama cookbook, they have always been my go-to for a dessert or treat.  When I’d run out of one, I’d make the other!
So when the holidays rolled around, I thought I’d try something new.  The Brownie Fudge recipe is from pate 404 of the Trim Healthy Table Cookbook in the Cookies, Brownies and Pie chapter.  It is a multiple serve, S (satisfying) recipe and I’m guessing it made around 16 servings for me and Victoria Leigh.  It is a No Special Ingredient recipe and can be made dairy free.  I did use dairy in my batch of brownies.  And it does have a special vegetable ingredient in them…
The picture in the cookbook convinced me to try the recipe because they really looked like what I thought brownies or fudge were supposed to look like to me.  And I think based on how mine turned out, that they look like how brownies (or fudge) are supposed to look:

Seriously, they look good!  And the texture was very similar to a sugar and gluten filled brownie.  Victoria liked them. The Salesman did not try them.  He opted for his own sugar and gluten filled desserts that had been brought to our home by sales representatives!

The Brownie Fudge tasted better to me the longer they were in the refrigerator and I also enjoyed them with some fresh blackberries on the side.

So we have a one thumbs up from Victoria.  I liked them; but not better than my two favorite go-to desserts.

How did you all do over the holidays? Did anyone lose weight or gain this season?  I was glad to have this brownie fudge as an alternative to the many goodies offered.  I took these on our trip to North Carolina and was glad to have them.  Pretty certain that I shared with you all that I tried the desserts that my family and friends offered me.  I don’t crave the sugar anymore though.  A year later, it is easier now to say that I had a sugar addiction. No more.  Hallelujah!
