Memory Monday· Prayer Poem· The Whole Earth is Full of His Glory

Merry Memory Monday to you!

My verse was John 1:14, from memory:

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We had a guest speaker for worship Sunday and my memory verse was part of his text from John 1:1-14. It was awesome! The young messenger of God spoke about how it is hard to understand the vastness of God and the persons of Father, Son and Spirit. The Lord used the sermon to really speak to my heart and encourage me that even though I believe and I know Him, I don’t understand everything there is to know about the with and was of God. He also shared the Scripture in Ezekiel 36:26 that talks about hearts of stone become hearts of flesh. We went to Scriptures about God’s grace and the blessings available to those who believe.

I heard the Spirit speak to my heart as God’s Truth was shared Sunday:

To wrap my mind around God’s with and was
In my grey matter, is sometimes just fuzz

But this I KNOW:
The Word has changed my life, once characterized as a mess
This I BELIEVE:
The Word became life giving flesh

Without a doubt, He has radically changed my heart of stone
Within my heart of flesh is now His home

I join in praise for His free grace gift
Not dependent on me, He’s poured out without thrift

The Word is evidence to all who believe
His blessing available to any willing to receive

Next week, I plan to tuck Romans 1:16 in my heart: For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.

002-2-2This verse made me think of these tulips near our front door. Although their green leaves and stems were hidden behind the garden hose holder, their blooms are now just bursting forth, proclaiming in the place they were planted and placed “I’m not ashamed! The whole earth is full of His glory!”

Thank you for sharing so much “meat” here for us to chew on. I love Romans 1:16 and I appreciate the analogy you used with the flowers and water hose. I often feel like I’m hidden some where behind everything but it’s ok because I know that in Christ I bloom right where I’m planted.

It sounds like the message the young man brought forth at service also was an incredible blessing! John 1:14 is powerful obviously. I often “speak” it together with John 1:1, 14.

You have warmed my heart and brought so much to me this morning as I go into my day. We can not understand all there is about our GREAT and MIGHTY GOD and some things I’m convinced we won’t know until we reach Glory, but we can, we must, continue to draw nearer and nearer to Him and as we do He reveals Himself all the more. I love when Paul said of Christ, I want to know HIM. That’s my cry as well.

    I love you dear sister.

Lovin’ your tulip pictures–waiting for mine. It may be awhile–we had flurries yesterday!

Loved reading what you had to say along with your verse. It’s always a joy to read.

I haven’t seen a single bulb or flower peeking anywhere here yet. We got three inches of snow today, and the next day or so will be rough still. I did see the beginning of some tree buds the other day.

I know your verse for next week!!! It’s one of my kids from Awana so I’ve heard it so much I know it. The oldest of the two boys just said it last night again for a review section.

We can’t possibly know all there is to know about our sweet Savior and like Lisa said we probably many things we won’t know this side of Heaven, but isn’t a blast getting to know Him? I pray daily for the Lord to increase my knowledge and understanding of Him and His ways.

Hi Lora~I haven't felt well this week & am just now checking out everyone else's verses.
Enjoyed the tulip pic & parallel. What you wrote made me think of Luke 19:40; that if we don't proclaim His Name the very stones will cry out.
    Enjoy your weekend!
