But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth. Acts 1:8
Power had been on my mind as the teens and I took a self defense class this weekend that the Salesman wanted us to take. I loved seeing the pictures of us learning the kicks. Victoria Leigh has a powerful kick. But I loved seeing her graceful form – like this was so easy for her to do! She was smiling and it looked as if she could have been holding a tea cup in her hand as she executed the powerful kick.Audra made me think of karate kid – perfect form and the serious face! Then there was me. I need the power of the Holy Spirit. Period. Flapping my arms did not help.Next week I plan to tuck Phillippians 1:21 in my heart:
For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. Phillipians 1:21
Sunday is a day of rest for me. My bed seems to beckon me after lunch. The last two weeks, a darlin’ teen has joined me. This week I brought the camera to nap time so I could capture glimpses of God’s goodness. Here’s the sleepy teen with a mask on because our room is a little bright for her darlin’ baby eyes. This is my favorite snapshot: her sleepy relaxed hand held tightly by my own. I do hope she joins me next week. After rousing from our naps, we were blessed to attend the production of David Sanborn’s King David. David Sanborn spoke word-for-word from I Samuel (NKJV) and used impersonations for the characters in the Bible. He made the Word come alive.

Good verse to memorize–I need that reminder about where my power comes from. I love seeing that your teenage daughter lays down to take a nap with you. I hope my daughters and I will always have that kind of relationship.
