Happy June 1st! You all, we have made it to the wonderful month of June and to our sixth memory verse! WooHoo! I don’t know about you; but, I am excited! I enjoy turning the calendar page to a new month and look forward to the new season that comes with June. June is going to be a great month.
And, I’ve made it to Philippians 4:8 this time:
Lora Osburn, Morristown, TN: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.” Philippians 4:8 NLT
This verse is the basis of my treasure hunt for beauty. I love that I am finding things that are “true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise” so evident even in these times! You know, I do realize that they’ve always been there, I just haven’t always looked for them. God is so gracious in His ways to us. I want to fix my thoughts, my mind, on those things. There is too much out there that can distract me from the “final thing” of this verse.
I’ve thought many times these last few months about how nice it would be to have a news segment that focused on the good things in life. Of course I am not saying be unaware of current times; but, I am saying focus on the blessings, the thanksgivings, and the good.
I am so looking forward to reading your verse in the comments. And if you don’t have a verse picked out, join me in memorizing Philippians 4:8, or consider this verse that I first remember putting to memory as a young child:
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28 NASB
I sure do love you and am so glad that you have joined in this journey to memorize the Word!
