Friends, we have made it to our 12th verse! I am so excited to start off the month of September with a new Scripture memory verse! But, before we get to that, let’s review our 11th verse. I will go first in typing it from memory, right here, live on the blog!
Psalm 116:7
Return to your rest,
My soul,
For the LORD has been good to you!
Psalm 116:7
Alrighty, let’s see how I did… Oh, my goodness, I got it! WooHoo!!! How about you? How did you do with your verse this time? If you would like to type it out in the comments from memory, too – go for it!
My new verse that I’m going to memorize came in the mail with my Dwell Differently monthly package. When I read the verse and found out that it had to do with light, since the name of my blog includes light, it made me happy. The verse is Truth and is so encouraging to me right now. I will apply the tattoo and go to memorizing my new verse. Dwell sends 3 temporary tattoos, a key card with verse, and a 4×5.5 print. So, here is my 12th verse to memorize:
Lora Osburn, Morristown, TN: “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIV
Isn’t that encouraging? It was to me. I want to share the devotional that came on the backside of the 4×5.5 print card from Dwell:
“Let it shine, let it shine, let it shine.
You might doubt whether you have anything to offer. You may feel awkward, intrusive, and ill-equipped. You probably fear what they’ll think of you. But, you’ve got this light burning inside your chest, struggling against your fears and doubts to be released. There are these words on the tip of your tongue that you know are true, things you believe in your core, and if you would only take courage, they would be light and life and joy to those around you.
The cost is truly high, to put yourself out there, to say those burning words. But, the reward is eternal. What will you do with your light? Let is shine, or hide it away?
Take two minutes and ask Jesus to put someone on your heart.”
I hope you are encouraged today. Let your light shine! I look forward to reading your verses in the comments!
I sure do love you all and am enjoying the honor of memorizing the Word together.
