Twice this last week when I was questioning the LORD about a certain topic, a song lyric came to my mind. When I say questioning – it’s just what I do with the LORD sometimes…in prayer, I ask Him why, or when, or how some *thing* is going to work out – I felt kind of like I was asking the 5 W’s: the who, what, when, where, and why. There are just times when I read the Word or pray and have questions. This I can say with certainty, the LORD always listens.
The song lyrics that came to my mind made me think of a Scripture, which then led me to another Scripture, and I ended up being super encouraged by songs and the Psalms.
Here is one of the questions I asked and what encouraged me:
I asked, “LORD, when is this Word going to come to pass?” While waiting, I started thinking of the song lyrics to Take Courage by Bethel Music:
“Take courage my heart
Stay steadfast my soul
He’s in the waiting
He’s in the waiting…”
I then went to the Psalms 27 and read about waiting on the Lord and taking courage and having strength.
Then I went onto Psalm 37 and read about resting in the LORD and waiting and having courage and patiently leaning on Him.
Is there anyone else that is waiting on the LORD and even asking questions like me: when, why, what, who, where? I just want to encourage you today – HE is in the waiting, friends. He is in the waiting!
Do you feel like you are in a season of waiting, too? If you have a favorite song that is giving encouragement to your heart in this current season, please share with me, I’d love to give it a listen.
