I have a confession:
I am not a coffee drinker.
It seems that every adult friend of mine drinks coffee. One day last week it was actually National Coffee Day and I felt a bit like I was the only adult at the kids table at family holiday gatherings. I didn’t even know there was a holiday for coffee. And, who comes up with all these holidays anyway? It seems there are so many more holidays now than there use to be!
Am I the only person you know that is not a coffee drinker? Tell me I’m not alone!
As a child I remember my parents drinking Folgers and the *best part of waking up* jingle now jangles through my thoughts as I peck the keyboard. I can still picture the coffee canister and the hear the sound of my mama’s spoon stirring the grounds into her fresh off the boil water from her avocado kettle. Coffee has never appealed to me; but, I sure do enjoy a cup of hot tea! My sister-in-law, Nancy, got me started on hot tea years ago and for as much as I didn’t desire coffee, I have really enjoyed hot tea. When I visited Victoria in China last year, almost everywhere we went, when I asked for water, it was served hot.
So, when I saw the THM Autumn Spiced Trimmy recipe, I decided to give it a try since I so enjoy everything about this wonderful season we are in and I thought it might up my tea game and move me from the kiddie table back to the adult beverage table. Over the years, I’ve heard many of my friends talk about their enjoyment of *Pumpkin Spice Lattes*, so I was interested in trying out the THM version of an autumn trimmy with tea. A *trimmy* is the THM version of bulletproof coffee.
Now, I did not even offer this to The Salesman because he has not joined the hot tea bandwagon yet; but, Mamas, make this tea! And if you come over to visit me, I will make one for you! We will both sit at the adult table and drink hot tea trimmies! It is delicious! And I feel like I have a fancy looking drink in my mug now.
I followed the recipe almost to a tea – pun intended – I thought it was funny! What I did:
Since I did not have pumpkin pie spice, I used cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and clove. I used Gentle Sweet verses the Super Sweet. I did not use the Sunflower Lecithin since I used the Pristine Whey Protein. And, I did use the MCT Oil because, oh my goodness, the benefits of it are amazing! I add this oil to salads and almost anything I blend. Here are a few facts about MCT oil from the THM website:
“MCT Oil raises your thermogenic temperature and brings on a metabolic inferno. Since it is burned up for energy so quickly it is very difficult for it ever to be stored as fat. This immediate fuel source becomes easily available for organs and muscles and promotes lean muscle increase at the same time as fat shedding.
This is no ordinary oil, it’s talented and scrumptious. Drizzled, swirled, tossed or whipped into food, it turns everyday meals into extraordinary healthy fare. If you need fat blasting, a dose of energy or fuel for a tired brain, just reach for your bottle of Trim Healthy Mama MCT Oil. It makes everything more “hummy”… that is healthy and yummy in one.”

And my review is a delicious and nutritious thumbs up. This cup of tea is packed with so many healthy products, and it is so good for you!
Enjoy!
