I pressed the submit button for my book proposal at 10:57pm on Thursday evening and I seriously thought I was all out of words. I planned to post a picture today that was worth a thousand words; but, when it came down to it, I found more words in me that *needed* to be shared on the page.
Being without words lasted till Friday when Denise and I went to look at a pair of twin beds that Lisa had found for me to complete a guest room. As I was walking out the door to meet Denise, I felt a small prompting in my spirit to take some cash with me. I dismissed it at first because I like to use my card for the cash back bonus benefit; but, that little prompting came back again, so I got some cash before picking Denise up. We both liked the beds. While in the shop, we ran into a mutual friend, Tracy, and we visited and caught up because it had been months since we’d seen her. Tracy liked the beds, too.
When I went to the counter to pay for them, I found out my card had been compromised. Long story short: someone was having a heyday with my card, and it wasn’t me. And, if I hadn’t followed the prompting of the Holy Spirit to bring cash, well, I would have been with out the beautiful twin beds.
And the story from the lady with no words, gets better.
A worker loaded one headboard and footboard into my car and said, “Ma’am, this other bed and rails and slats aren’t going to fit.” At precisely the same moment, Tracy walked out of the shop, heard him say that and opened the trunk of her van (which was parked right beside my car) and told him to load the rest in her vehicle that she would deliver them for me!
Just like a moving van, Tracy had blankets and cushions so that every piece was wrapped and kept in pristine shape! Our little moving caravan then headed home.
My friends blessed me every step of the way:
From locating the French provincial style that I enjoy, to sharing the information with me of where to find the pair, Lisa went before me.
To the friend that sticks closer than a brother that prompted me to take some cash. The Holy Spirit is a wonderful counselor and friend.
To the friend that parked beside me, offered her van as a delivery vehicle and had blankets and cushions. Tracy gave of her time and resources.
To the youngest one, who did more steps than I did to get everything in place. Denise was with me and went above and beyond.
I have the best friends.
