Happy May Day!!!
And Happy Scripture Memory Team Day! It’s a new month and time to memorize a new verse! Come on, join the team! Friends, there are no awkward tryouts, you have an inkling to join, put your name in the comments along with your verse, and you are on the team!
As soon as I read this month’s verse and Dwell’s post that said:
“Nothing stays the same.
Ever.
We are ever changing, always becoming.
And we have an active role in how we change and what we become.
This month, we set our minds and hearts on this challenging call to set ourselves apart and the promise that follows: we can know and walk in God’s will.”
I thought of the wisdom of Bob Kauffman. Now since you are probably wondering who Bob Kauffman is, I will tell you. The Salesman and I worked with Bob when we both started our first official jobs after college. For the Salesman it was his career job and for me, though I had a college degree, it was my *you-are-a-file-clerk-at-The-Salesman’s-office-cause-y’all-only-have-one-car-job* Yep, my fashionably co-ordinated outfits and pumps were filing all day long. Back to the real story: Everybody loved Bob Kauffman. Bob had the time for The Salesman, and me, in a faced paced international firm that had me feeling wide-eyed when I first started. Let me tell you what I remember Bob saying:
“One thing that is certain, everything changes.”
Bob shared wisdom with two whippersnappers that were green as green could be in the corporate world. Oh, there are so many stories I could tell…
That was almost 33 years ago and you know what Bob and Dwell Differently and me agree: everything is still a changin’, expect the never changing Word of God!
Here is my Scripture Memory Team entry:
Lora Osburn, Morristown, Tennessee:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2 NIV
I so look forward to reading the verse you want to memorize in the comments, or join with me and memorize Romans 12:2.
I sure do love you!
