A hairdryer and a song

Five Minute Friday· Home Sweet Home· Homeschool· My Dear Family· Prayer Poem· Reflections· Teens· Victoria Leigh

18 May

How is it that you, my baby Victoria, are 18 now?  Weren't we just laying on a quilt in the yard watching the clouds and talking about you being old enough to go to school?  This phase of high school graduation and knowing you will leave for college soon, has my emotions on a roller coaster ride.It was during those pre-school years that you started a sweet after bath ritual. On tip toes you would stand on top of the commode to see yourself in the mirror, as you would belt out a song ... Read More about A hairdryer and a song

Waiting

Uncategorized

16 Jul

He was not on time.  He was not even close to being on time, by at least two hours.  By the time he showed up to load the lawnmower for repair, my flesh was ready to tell him how late he was, how I had plans to do "this and that" in town and it did not include waiting for hours for him to arrive.  Now, I'd been busy in the wait time, accomplishing other tasks on my to-do list; but I would still find myself glancing out the window and even called the shop because they'd said the ... Standing on our bridges

Home Sweet Home· My Dear Family· On the Road Again· Reflections· The Salesman

17 Sep

I've decided, we live in an area with the most beautiful views. On the way home the other night, we stopped on a beautiful old steel truss bridge to take this picture. The bridge is a two lane, but it is a very snug two lane. It's the kind that I find myself holding my breath if another car going the opposite direction passes. We were the only car on the bridge when I started snapping pictures and Victoria alerted me when another car was waiting to get on the bridge to cross. Our lives have ... A Season

Glimpses of the Garden· On the Road Again· Prayer Poem· Reflections

31 Aug

I've been in a season of intense pruning. At times, the lobs have been so deep, it seemed that all of me was ruining.Everywhere I go, I seem to seeEvidence of pruning, like what the LORD is doing in me.John 15:1 and 2I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more ...
